Volunteer

LGF believes in the importance of bringing communities together. Local LGF chapters thrive through strong volunteerism and broad community support. We encourage your chapter to become an active participant in activities that support and strengthen your local communities. Chapters actively involved in their communities build awareness for the LGF program, increase and promote the importance of volunteerism, and help improve the quality of life for all citizens within their community.

If you have the knowledge to operate a pontoon, you can be part of a two-person team who can take seniors on outings. There will always be a minimum of 2 adult volunteers on each pontoon – one to captain the watercraft, the other to assist.  You only need to be over 18 and be able to assist seniors on the pontoon.

We provide both organizational training and on-the-water training for our volunteers.  All you need to do is sign up.  We encourage husband-wife, father-son, mother-daughter, etc. teams to volunteer as well as individuals who just love the water and fishing.  What better way to spend a day helping seniors who have given so much to us, and also being on the water fishing or cruising?

If you have the heart and desire to help the seniors and would rather not be on the water, you can help by volunteering at parades or other functions or fundraising events. You may have special talents that can benefit LGFWS.
